People who live in conservative societies may find it shameful or forbidding to have a sexual fantasy, let alone play it out. This can cause guilt and frustration.

If it is kept to the individual only, then all types of sexual fantasies are tolerable. However, the world is changing fast and many kinds of sexual fantasies that were considered totally abhorrent in the past are now being accepted.
